Don’t Worry About the Future

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

John 14:1-3 NASB

Lord, I believe in You.  Sometimes the devil tries to make me doubt Your Word and Your promises, but I know they are true.   When my heart is troubled, speak to me and remind me of Your promise of a future home with You.

When I listen to the news and watch events unfolding around the world, I am uncertain about what will happen to our country, which in turn makes me concerned for our city and state.  I pray for our leaders that they will use wisdom to direct our government and will turn their eyes upon You and Your Word.

Your Word tells me that, as a Christian, I don’t need to be troubled about these things.  You have taken care of the future.  You have prepared a place for those who trust in You.  Thank You for loving us enough to take care of our future.

Father, calm my troubled spirit and help me rest in You and Your promises.  Let me not be afraid of the future.

Amen.
